LUTHERAN CAMPS TO OPEN JULY 3RD LOCATED ALONG DELAWARE NEAR SHAWNEE

Camp Miller for boys and Camp Hagan for girls, both located at Shawnee-on-Delaware, and owned and operated by the Lutheran Ministerium of Pennsylvania, will open their 1937 season July 3 and operate for eight weeks until August 28.

Both camps are under the personal supervision of LeRoi E. Snyder, of this city, who is director of youth activities for the Ministerium.

Camp Miller will mark its 16th season of operation this year, while Camp Hagan will be starting its first season.  The ground for the girls’ camp was donated by Mr. and Mrs. Peter P. Hagan, of Philadelphia.

Camp Miller will be host to 700 boys during the season.  They will come from such distant points as Pasadena, California; Brenham, Texas; Tuscaloosa and Birmingham, Alabama; and from all sections of Pennsylvania, New York and New Jersey.

Camp Hagan has 274 girls enrolled for the season.

Over 150 boys and girls from Reading and vicinity will be in attendance at both camps during the summer.
